Venezuela's foreign minister called for the release of state assets frozen under sanctions to support recovery from twin earthquakes that killed at least 3,600 people. The UN has appealed for $296 million in aid, with more than 1.3 million people facing socioeconomic needs. US sanctions imposed since 2019 were partially eased for four months.
