Privacy Policy

What we collect

Email address — only if you subscribe to our newsletter. We use it exclusively to send you the daily digest. We never sell, share, or rent your email to third parties.

Push notification tokens — only if you opt in to browser notifications. These are stored to deliver story alerts and can be revoked at any time through your browser settings.

Analytics — we may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (page views, feature usage) to improve the service. No personal information is included in analytics data.

What we don't collect

We do not collect passwords, payment information (unless you use the optional supporter tier), browsing history, or any personal data beyond what's listed above. We do not use tracking cookies. We do not build user profiles.

How we store your data

Data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS) with row-level security enabled. Email addresses are not encrypted at rest but are protected by authentication and access controls. We retain your email only as long as you're subscribed — unsubscribing permanently deletes your record.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email. You can request deletion of all your data by emailing hello@sardonyx.dev. We will respond within 30 days.

Third-party services

We use: Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), Upstash (rate limiting), and Serper (search verification). Each has its own privacy policy. We do not share your personal data with any of these services beyond what's necessary for their function (e.g., Resend receives your email to deliver the newsletter).

Open source

This entire platform is open source. You can audit exactly what data we collect and how we process it by reading the code.
