Framing Analysis
The government has announced plans to spend an initial £10bn from the 10-year Affordable Homes Programme on a mix of subsidised housing types, supporting 70,000 homes outside London with 60% designated for social rent. London will receive a separate £6bn allocation later, contributing toward a target of 300,000 affordable homes over the decade. Funding will flow through 33 strategic partners, including three local councils for the first time.
