Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan will sign a joint defence agreement on August 7 in Jeddah, with Turkish President Erdogan, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and army chief Asim Munir attending the ceremony. The pact follows nearly a year of negotiations and builds on an existing Saudi-Pakistani mutual defence arrangement that treats an attack on either party as an attack on both. Turkish officials have described the move as part of a broader regional security platform.
