The UK Ministry of Defence confirmed that cameras on K3 Scout unmanned surface vessels used by the Royal Marines contained Chinese-made components that transmitted heartbeat communications to an IP address in China. A routine cyber assessment identified the issue; investigators found no evidence that MOD data or systems were accessed or compromised. Internet connectivity was removed from the cameras following discovery.
