Viktor Orbán telephoned Péter Magyar on 12 April to concede defeat following the Tisza Party's landslide victory that delivered a two-thirds parliamentary majority. Magyar assumed office in May, after which President Tamás Sulyok and Hungary's chief prosecutor left their positions. Orbán had maintained a supermajority since the 2010 elections and governed for 16 years until the April result.
