N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons since 2017, stated in an August 12, 2026 email that he would not offer himself for re-appointment after his term ends February 20, 2027. The Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, which holds 27.9% of Tata Sons, has passed a resolution to form a selection committee under the company's Articles of Association. Tata Trusts together hold nearly two-thirds of the company.
