A 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck Colombia on Monday morning, centered in Chocó province about 250 miles west of Bogotá. The quake caused building collapses, hospital and airport damage, and at least 169 deaths while being felt in neighboring countries. President Abelardo de la Espriella, who took office three days earlier, declared a state of emergency.
