A three-member Lok Sabha inquiry committee found all charges proved against former Allahabad High Court judge Yashwant Varma after unaccounted partially burnt cash was discovered in his residence following a March 14, 2025 fire. The panel submitted a two-volume report to Speaker Om Birla in May, after which Varma resigned; the report was laid in both Houses of Parliament but the resignation remains un-notified by the Law Ministry.
