A study published in JAMA Internal Medicine analyzed over 12 million U.S. death certificates and found flight attendants and pilots recorded the highest and second-highest percentages of deaths from radiation-linked cancers. Cosmic radiation exposure at altitude was identified as the key factor, exceeding rates among workers handling radioactive materials.
