Nolan Wells disappeared on July 4 during a boating trip to Horn Island off Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. An independent autopsy performed by Dr. Roger Mitchell on July 10 found red discoloration in soft tissue at the back of the head and neck but did not determine cause or manner of death. Results were announced by attorney Ben Crump at the NAACP Convention on July 22.
