Nolan Wells, an 18-year-old Mississippi resident, disappeared after a July Fourth boat trip to Horn Island. An independent autopsy by Dr. Roger A. Mitchell Jr. identified a 12-by-8-inch area of head discoloration without fractures or deep tissue injuries but could not determine cause of death due to advanced decomposition. Results were announced by attorney Ben Crump at the NAACP National Convention.
