Hakainde Hichilema was declared the winner of Zambia's presidential election held on August 13, 2026, with results announced by the Electoral Commission of Zambia on August 18, 2026. Vote counting was suspended on August 14 due to attacks on officials and theft of ballot papers before resuming under heightened security, and several opposition figures were arrested on election night. Hichilema received 2,965,326 votes and Brian Mundubile received 1,856,217 votes according to available tallies, resulting in an outright victory without a runoff.
