Framing Analysis
A flash flood along the Bhotekoshi River was caused by a glacier collapse on the north slope of Langtang Lirung mountain. Satellite imagery and seismic data from the US Geological Survey indicate an ice-rock avalanche generated a magnitude 5.2 signal and raised downstream water levels by 7 to 9 metres. The event left 1,400 people missing according to reports citing The Guardian.
