China's National Bureau of Statistics reported the official manufacturing PMI at 49.2 for July, down from 50.3 in June, marking the first contraction since February. New orders and production sub-indices also declined, with new orders reaching their lowest level since 2023. The data were released on Friday and attributed in part to weak domestic demand.
