Burials of migrants who died during a July 30 crossing from Morocco into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta began on August 21 at the local Muslim cemetery. Straits Times reporting states that 96 total deaths were recorded, with 5,000 to 8,000 migrants remaining in Ceuta and plans to inter around 70 bodies at a rate of 10 to 12 per day. Most remains are unidentified and marked only with numbered stones.
