Washoe County authorities arrested a woman who admitted to igniting the Fred Mountain Fire, which merged with the Bug Fire north of Reno. The fires have burned at least 57,966 acres according to one report, prompted evacuations of around 13,000 residents, closed portions of Highway 395, and led to an emergency declaration by Governor Lombardo. A disputed claim places the combined blaze at 66,505 acres.
