Framing Analysis
French authorities ordered a total evacuation of the Cap Ferret peninsula by land and sea in response to a wildfire that began near Saumos on Wednesday. The fire had burned more than 10,000 hectares by Friday morning, destroyed 80 houses, and remained uncontained despite deployment of 800 firefighters and four water-bombing planes. Evacuation figures remain disputed between reports citing 40,000 and more than 20,000 people.
