Framing Analysis
Wildfires burning in Ontario, Canada, and Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness produced smoke that reached unhealthy levels for millions across the Great Lakes, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions on Friday. The smoke created visible haze in Washington, D.C., prompted postponement of a Major League Baseball game in Cleveland, and coincided with separate severe weather threats including flood watches from D.C. to Boston. Air quality warnings were projected to continue through Saturday.
