Framing Analysis
The World Health Organization declared on July 2 that the hantavirus outbreak associated with the MV Hondius has ended, following 12 confirmed cases, one probable case, and three deaths. The Dutch-flagged vessel departed Ushuaia, Argentina, on April 1 and visited remote South Atlantic islands including Tristan da Cunha before proceeding to Tenerife. No additional cases have been reported since May 25, and the final exposed contact completed quarantine with a negative test result.
