WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated on Monday that the Bundibugyo strain Ebola outbreak centered in Democratic Republic of Congo's Ituri and North Kivu provinces has produced 220 suspected deaths. Uganda confirmed two additional cases, bringing its total to seven. The WHO declared the outbreak a public health emergency of international concern, with no approved vaccines available for the strain.
