An observational study of 1,039,659 VA patients who received flu shots examined rates of major adverse cardiovascular events among those who also received the 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine. The analysis, published in JAMA Internal Medicine, compared 349,085 dual-vaccinated patients against 690,574 who received only the flu shot. Perspectives differ on the strength of the observed association, study limitations, and policy implications.
