The Uttar Pradesh government constituted a three-member SIT on June 13 to investigate theft of donations at the Ayodhya Ram temple site. The SIT reviewed CCTV footage, identified around 70 suspected incidents, submitted a preliminary report on June 23, and handed its final report to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, leading to an FIR naming eight individuals. Champat Rai and Anil Mishra resigned from the trust but were not named in the FIR.
