Framing Analysis
The Trump administration proposed tariffs of 12.5 percent on goods from India, China, Japan, South Korea, Brazil and Switzerland and 10 percent on goods from Canada, Mexico, the EU, the UK and Pakistan following a Section 301 investigation. US negotiators visited Delhi after an interim US-India framework was reached in February, and Washington reduced peak tariffs on Indian goods to 18 percent. Some earlier tariffs were rejected by the US Supreme Court in February.
