The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the producer price index increased 4.7% in July from a year earlier, down from 5.5% in June, and remained flat month-over-month. Core producer prices excluding food and energy rose 4.2% annually and 0.2% monthly. Consumer prices reached 3.4% in July while outpacing wage growth for four consecutive months.
