The vessel, sanctioned in October 2024 for Iranian oil trading and capable of carrying up to two million barrels, was last observed off Sri Lanka's southern coast with a draft indicating a near-full cargo. Indo-Pacific Command stated the action targeted networks providing material support to Iran.
