U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced two federal felony charges against Melissa L. Farris for alleged damage at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. The charges, each carrying up to ten years in prison, are Depredation Against Property of the United States and Destruction of Veterans' Memorials. Farris remains in federal custody following the announcement on August 14, 2026.
