The Union Cabinet approved a Rs 6,969.67 crore, 8.1 km six-lane tunnel project in Delhi and a Rs 7,145.14 crore greenfield highway corridor in Uttar Pradesh. Both projects use Hybrid Annuity Mode, incorporate Tunnel Boring Machine technology for the Delhi tunnel, and are projected to generate combined direct and indirect employment of over 17 lakh person-days. The approvals were cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
