The United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine recorded 1,396 civilian deaths and 7,978 injuries in Ukraine during the first six months of 2026, a 37 percent increase from the same period in 2025. A separate July missile strike in Kyiv killed 19 civilians and injured 76. Inside Russia, 250 civilians were killed and 1,596 injured in the same period, representing a 121 percent rise.
