The UK government will release its Defence Investment Plan on Tuesday, allocating £5bn to drones and autonomous weapons within a £13.5bn Ministry of Defence funding increase agreed by the Treasury and No 10. The plan follows the resignation of Defence Secretary John Healey and a second minister amid negotiations that reduced an original funding gap. Publication occurs shortly before the NATO leaders summit on 7 July.
