The Home Office is seeking planning permission to house asylum seekers at three military sites in Bicester, Barnham, and Linton-on-Ouse with capacity for 3,750 people. Extensions are planned for sites at Crowborough until 2030 and Wethersfield beyond 2027 with capacity increased to 1,200. As of March, 20,885 asylum seekers remained in hotels while 72,768 were in non-hotel accommodation.
