The Court of Appeal ruled that the government's proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation was lawful, overturning a prior High Court decision. The ruling by a five-judge panel affirmed that the ban, effective since 5 July 2024, struck a fair balance between security and rights. More than 3,000 arrests have occurred since the ban, with penalties for membership or support reaching up to 14 years in prison.
