Framing Analysis
The UAE launched its first passenger rail service from Fujairah to Abu Dhabi, with the inaugural train arriving at 7:13 am on a Thursday morning in June. Passenger Gunjan Chaurasia, aged 42, traveled over 100 km from Dubai to board and noted desert landscapes not visible from roads. The project follows a regional rail network concept announced nearly 20 years ago and is the second such service in the Gulf after Saudi Arabia.
