Typhoon Dolphin passed through Okinawa prefecture before making landfall near Yuhuan City, Zhejiang Province, on Sunday at approximately 5:30 pm local time as a Category 2-equivalent storm with winds exceeding 150 km/h. Chinese authorities relocated more than 900,000 residents from Wenzhou and opened over 1,000 shelters while nearly 1,400 flights were cancelled at Shanghai airports. Forecasts indicate 250-500 mm of rain in parts of central and eastern Zhejiang through August 10.
