Twisha Sharma was found dead at her marital home in Bhopal on May 12 and declared brought dead at AIIMS Bhopal. Police filed an FIR on May 15 under dowry harassment sections against her husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh, a retired district judge; the case was later transferred to the CBI. A Bhopal court extended judicial custody of the accused by 14 days, while the Supreme Court took suo-moto cognisance.
