Donald Trump announced his intent to nominate James M. McDonald to serve as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. McDonald previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in that office, as CFTC enforcement director, and as a member of Trump's legal team handling the appeal of the Manhattan hush-money conviction. Jay Clayton, the current SDNY U.S. Attorney, was separately nominated by Trump for Director of National Intelligence.
