The Trump administration suspended federal funding for New York's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit after the HHS Inspector General determined the unit secured only eight or nine criminal indictments. New York Attorney General Letitia James reported recovering more than $627 million in Medicaid fraud cases since taking office. The suspension, the second this year, extends through at least September 30.
