The U.S. federal government finalized a $1.22 billion settlement with RWE U.S. Offshore on Thursday, resolving the company's legal claims in exchange for relinquishment of offshore wind leases off New York, California, and Louisiana. RWE will redirect $900 million toward a stake in a Louisiana LNG project. This marks the fifth such agreement under the current administration, bringing cumulative spending near $4 billion.
