The Trump administration issued an emergency order on Monday directing the shutdown of 110 commercial truck-driving schools and their removal from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Training Provider Registry. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stated that the schools had trained more than 5,000 drivers cited for English-language proficiency violations. An additional 160 schools were closed for separate training deficiencies.
