Framing Analysis
Tropical Storm Moke formed Friday and was located 470 miles southeast of Hilo at 5 a.m. Saturday with 50 mph sustained winds, moving west-northwest at 12 mph. The system is forecast to pass south of the Big Island late Saturday into Sunday, bringing 5-15 inches of rain primarily to windward and southeast areas before continuing westward through early Tuesday. Impacts are expected to be more limited than those from prior Hurricane Lala.
