A total solar eclipse will occur on Wednesday, with the path of totality passing over large parts of northern and central Spain, smaller parts of Portugal, Greenland, Iceland, and the south of France. Partial phases will be visible across much of Western Europe including the United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland, and northern Italy. This marks the first total solar eclipse visible from mainland Europe in two decades.
