Tom Smith, who suspended his campaign on July 16, received just over 50 percent of the vote in the Michigan 8th District Republican primary. Amir Hassan, endorsed by Donald Trump on August 3, received 33.2 percent, while Al Lemmo received 16.4 percent. Smith had endorsed Lemmo after withdrawing.
