Kalyan Banerjee, a Trinamool Congress MP, was suspended from the Lok Sabha on Wednesday after a voice-vote resolution for using unparliamentary language during a heated exchange with three women MPs. The suspension, announced by presiding officer Krishna Prasad Tenneti, applies for the rest of the Monsoon Session, after which the House adjourned. The three MPs—Mitali Bagh, Shatabdi Roy, and Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar—are former TMC members now aligned with NCPI.
