A Thai court on June 11 sentenced Yusufu Mieraili and Bilal Mohammed, ethnic Uyghur Chinese nationals from Xinjiang, to death for the August 17, 2015 bombing at Bangkok's Erawan Shrine that killed 20 people and injured 120. The men were convicted of premeditated murder and attempted murder after a trial involving 10,000 pages of testimony and 400 witnesses; both have denied the charges and plan to appeal. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
