Gabriel Perez, who operated Donald Trump’s teleprompter since 2016 at a $175,000 annual salary, allegedly used advance knowledge of speech content to place bets on Kalshi’s “Mentions” market and won more than $100,000. The White House placed him on unpaid leave and later confirmed he no longer works in the federal government. Kalshi’s surveillance team flagged the activity and referred it to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
