Biing-seng Wu and Jordan Wu founded Himax Technologies in Tainan, Taiwan, 25 years ago to develop display driver chips. The company holds a 40 percent share of the automotive display-chip market, with customers including Ferrari, Volkswagen, and Porsche; U.S.-listed shares have more than doubled this year, producing a first-time $1 billion combined valuation on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index for the brothers' 24 percent stake. Jordan Wu stated in a 2022 interview that very few automakers do not use Himax products.
