Swiss institutions transferred 18 artefacts to Nigeria in a ceremony at the National Museum in Lagos. The items originated from the Ethnographic Museum at the University of Zurich, Museum Rietberg Zurich, and Musée d’Ethnographie de Genève. The transfer follows a March 2026 ownership agreement for 28 pieces under the Benin Initiative Switzerland launched in 2021.
