The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 to uphold Mississippi's policy of counting mail ballots postmarked by Election Day even if received later. Justice Amy Coney Barrett wrote the majority opinion joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson. The Court also agreed to hear RNC v. Mi Familia Vota next term.
