On July 23, 2026, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation closed 16 stations in central Delhi, including the Supreme Court station. Supreme Court Bar Association president Vikas Singh raised the issue before a bench led by CJI Surya Kant, who indicated the court might intervene judicially if no solution was found. CJI Surya Kant also issued an administrative order directing that no adverse orders be passed solely due to counsel non-appearance.
