Framing Analysis
Stephen Colbert hosted the Late Show for nearly 11 years until its finale on Thursday night at New York's Ed Sullivan Theater. The broadcast featured performances by Paul McCartney and Elvis Costello, appearances by other late-night hosts, and closed with the lights being switched off in the venue where the Beatles debuted in 1964. CBS canceled the program in July after the franchise had been taped there for close to 33 years.
